The air separation industry is an area of high growth for the valve industry, as global demand for industrial gasses continues to rise, so will the demand for safety relief valves and control valves. Customers in this space have very stringent cleanliness levels for their oxygen service valves as any contaminants within the valve components could pose serious hazards. It is vitally important that safety relief valves and control valves are appropriately manufactured and cleaned in a very controlled environment to eliminate fire and explosion dangers for plant personnel and equipment.

With the forecasted growth and mounting trends to develop more clean energy infrastructure, Baker Hughes has made a significant investment to expand our cleaning capabilities at our Suzhou, China plant, allowing us to better serve our customer base and provide unique valve solutions. The newly expanded clean room in Suzhou has increased in size by more than double the previous clean room. At roughly 1,700 ft² (158 m²), the new clean room is one of the largest clean rooms in the valve industry, expanding the plant’s production capacity to reduce lead times for future air separation and hydrogen projects. The state-of-art clean room is ISO 7 and Class 10,000 certified, in accordance with ISO 14644 and US STD 209E, and in compliance with the most stringent of customer specifications.
