Baker Hughes Masoneilan Digital Solutions helps Singapore Refinery execute Turnaround
ExxonMobil Singapore Refinery and Baker Hughes Singapore Aftermarket Center teamed up to provide advanced diagnostic valve signature analysis to complete the 2018 SOP1 turnaround on time. Using Masoneilan, ValvScope and ValVue advanced diagnostic tools, Baker Hughes’s turnaround service support team performed digital health assessments on 55 valves, reducing the need to dismantle and inspect over 60% of the total population.
ExxonMobil was able to cut off days of valve maintenance labor to ensure priority of work and an on time scheduled turnaround thanks to advanced planning and support from Baker Hughes. Traditional turnarounds require technicians available on site at the start of the event to dismantle the total population of critical valves to perform physical inspection of each individually. Baker Hughes service teams supported ExxonMobil with digital pre-assessments in advance of the actual outage. Technicians looked at the health conditions over the period of operation of all 84 valves in just three days and were able to prioritize the population shifting out of tolerance that were in need of a tune-up prior to restart.
Critical turnaround planning using Baker Hughes Valve Lifecycle Management include:
- Digital Plant Valve Performance Audit captures and analyzes valve signatures performing trend analysis over time of current vs. required performance criteria, regardless of valve brand.
- Turnaround Prioritization Plan to look at every critical valve and assess the urgency of repair need and impact to total plant performance. Qualified Baker Hughes valve technicians can help assess which valves to open and repair at each outage to make the optimal usage of time and impact.
- Service & Repair Plans help for the local Aftermarket Centers to stock kits and parts that are essential for servicing the prioritized valves. Certified valve repair technicians can be scheduled with critical parts in hand to ensure quick response and rapid service during tight turnaround windows.
