Type 3500 Electromatic™ Ball Valve

  • Benefits:

    The Consolidated 3500 series EBV is a power actuated safety valve designed to prevent overpressure in boiler systems by relieving excess pressure when it exceeds the set pressure.  The set pressure of the EBV is set below the set pressure of the spring-loaded safety valves and it opens automatically to allow fluid to flow, reducing pressure, and then reclose when the system pressure returns to an acceptable level. 

    The EBV is in direct communication with the boiler system when it is under pressure, and it receives a control signal to open when the set pressure is achieved. The EBV also reduces start-up and shutdown time when used for venting steam in subcritical units. It increases plant efficiency by providing repeatable seat tightness.

    • Full pressure rated body & body joints - the bolted connection is designed to meet and exceed ASME Section VIII, Div 1, Appendix 2 and ASME B16.34 criteria and utilize a proprietary seal ring design

    • Spray & fused Colmonoy 88 thermal coatings for ball-seat provide high surface hardness & good performance for applications with high temperature & thermal shock

    • Heavy duty Inconel 718 Stem providing high strength even at high temperature as against Grade 660 with limited strength at high temperatures

    • Digital Valve Controller is a highly programable system to automatically control an open/close actuator in Power Automated Relief Valve applications. It uses an industrial digital controller with 4-20mA analog I/O, programmable Digital I/O, and a Modbus RTU serial communication port

    • Optional isolation valve – Combination valve package for non-ASME Code Section I V stamped applications for two valves in one assembly eliminating a critical weld during installation. ASME Code Section I V stamped applications require a minimum of two ERVs for redundancy purposes.

     

    Applications:

    • ASME section I power-actuated safety valves for supercritical or once-through boilers.

    • ASME section I certification is not required when used with sub-critical or drum type boilers for start-up and shutdown venting.
