Geothermal
Geothermal formations are excellent sources of heat and is used in many countries around the world for electric generation. In a geothermal power plant, hot brine extracted from geothermal wells is typically converted to steam using a “Flash Technology”. A steam turbine generator in-turn converts this steam into electricity. The hot brine, having large percentage of dissolved salts, tends to produce silicates that deposit within piping and equipment, which negatively impacts the reliability of geothermal power plants. Masoneilan has three decades of experience providing proven control valves solutions to this industry.
